Probability theory is the study of random phenomena and laws of a subject, and it has a wide range of applications in the natural and social sciences as well as today’s market economic order. Currently, the new curriculum standard has considered the probability and statistical thinking as one of the basic literacies of the modern qualified citizens. And it has been put into the mathematics curriculum in high school, whether in the curriculum content, in lesson clear arrangements, or on the test requirements, it has been given a enough attention.From the teaching content and features of probability theory, combined with the current research probability teaching, this thesis consider the constructivist learning theory and teaching theory as the theoretical basis. Probability theory study, conducted with the learning situation analysis, and select Luoyang Foreign Language School to questionnaires and paper test, and then analyze students’ probability of learning situation and status of teaching respectively with the help of mathematical statistics two independent samples T-test method. The thesis finds that there are no differences between the student gender and grade arts, but there are some differences between their sciences. After analyzing the present situation of teaching, the thesis finds where the current difficulties are, and make recommendations for teaching probability. Probability Teaching theory should be based on students’ understanding cognitive basis, by enumerating real-life example of random phenomena, and take advantage of zone of proximal development, guiding students to learn knowledge, to enable students to appreciate and build the probability theory of random thoughts, and thus explore random variation phenomena.
