| We can’t ignore that US TV series take place in the Chinese film market. US TV series spread widely among Chinese university students. On the one hand, it can help university students improve English and cultivate a positive attitude towards life. On the other hand, western values reflected in US TV series impact the mainstream values of our society and directly affect the forming values of university students. Therefore, we should rely upon China’s national conditions, treat the spread of US TV series properly and make a research on the influence of US TV series on the values of university students. It would also be proper to respond to western values correspondingly in the face of globalization estimating a possible harm to university students, finally, help them stick to correct values. It is advantageous that the values of university education are to be more stressed. We have come up with the idea of analyzing the advantages and disadvantages of US TV series in the practice of socialist core values. The university students must understand the objective of the socialist core values, value orientation, and value criteria.Based on the previous research results and such a wide spread of US TV series among university students, the analysis of the influence of US TV series on the forming and developing of university students’ values can be proceeded through the investigation. We’11 make suggestions that can help university students establish the socialist core values. This thesis consists of six parts.The first part introduces the background of US TV series propagation, as well as the policy of US TV series propagation. Not only does it summarize the research status, but also explains the basic ideas and research methods.The second part defines the conception of values and the values of university students as well as some other core concepts. According to the main content of university students’ values, it makes corresponding explanations, provides with the analysis of the current situation of university students’ education values, and establishes the theoretical basis for the thesis.The third part describes the history of the spread of US TV series and the present situation of propagation among university students. It also summarizes the propagandist characteristics of US TV series.The fourth part makes an investigation on the spread of US TV series. Using the combination of theoretical and empirical analysis methods and questionnaire method, and analyzes the influence of different degrees after watching US TV series.The fifth part analyzes the influence of US TV series on the forming and developing of university students’ values.The sixth part makes some suggestions to help university students establish the socialist core values. |
