Group learning has been becoming a fundamentaland significant teaching method of the current educational system in the world. Group learning, as a learning strategy with explicit division of responsibility, encourages students to realize their learning aims as well as group goals through cooperation. In the society, people work together to achieve the ultimate goals, in which adolescents can learn how to cooperate with others. Similarly, students can improve their learning and cooperative abilities through group learning. Hence, to look into the students learning in groups is practical and significant.Through classroom observations and interviews, it is not common to see the substantial cooperative learning. Without a deep understanding and practical pattern of cooperative learning, teachers usually find it is hard to apply it into teaching procedures. The process of cooperation would be the team leaders or top students give the performance, while most of the students tend to watch.Clearly, the key problem roots in the lack of individual responsibility. The substantial group cooperation is built on mutual confidence and interdependence. Otherwise, individual responsibility is also required high attention. It is not sure whether the cooperative study, individual responsibility and self-efficacy are equally connected among the studies at home and abroad. In order to further clarify the student cooperative learning situation, features, and the relationship between individual responsibility and academic self-efficacy, this study adopts the questionnaire. In this research,287 middle school students were investigatedand the data was analyzed. The result indicates:(1) Students’current cooperative learning situation is relatively poor; (2) There is a certain gender and grade characteristics in students’ cooperative learning; (3) Higher individual responsibility and self-efficacy can bring positive effects on the students group learning.
