| As the development of globalization and the promotion of information technology, the world is getting closer and closer as well as the communication between different cultures. This makes our life become colorful, but meanwhile brings us much challenges. Cultural diversity has become a significant feature of this age, and the governance of cultural diversity has become a global issue.UNESCO is a worldwide and intergovernmental organization. It has been committed to the issue of education, scientific and cultural. UNESCO puts forward the concept of Intercultural Education when facing with the issue of cultural diversity. On the basis of the development of Education for International Understanding, UNESCO proposed the theory of Intercultural Education at the beginning of 1990 s. And the study of Intercultural Education has experienced three periods from been proposed to present. During this time, UNESCO has been rich in the theory by kinds of declarations and recommendations and so on; and meanwhile, UNESCO makes full use of existing education network to build an intercultural dialogue platform, pays attention to language teaching, protects the cultural heritage by combined with ICT and practices Intercultural Education from the national, regional and global levels. UNESCO actively puts Intercultural Education into effect by cross-sectoral cooperation and has accumulates a wealth of experience. However, during the practicing of Intercultural Education, it also facing the problems such as the fuzziness on value judgment and the complexity in practice. But the experiences of Intercultural Education can be reference for the development of Intercultural Education in China. |
