"World Geography" is an important part of middle school geography curriculum, which is also the main gateway for students to view the world. Under the background of globalization and cultural diversity, it is obviously necessary to integrate multicultural education into geography teaching. The thesis attempts to study on the aims, contents and strategies of "World geography" teaching from the perspective of cultural diversity, in the hope of providing effective guidance for the geography teachers to integrate multicultural education into current "World geography" teaching, and meanwhile offering some constructive suggestions for further reform of middle school geography curriculum.Firstly, based on the analysis of globalization background and aims of multicultural education, the thesis attempts to construct the aims of "World geography" teaching under the perspective of cultural diversity from three aspects: knowledge and ability; process and method; emotion, attitude and values.Secondly, the thesis illustrates by the example of the Shanghai geography textbook Grade 6, analyzes three chapters "Landscape and map", "The Countries in the World" and "The Globe" from the perspective of cultural diversity, and discusses the relationship between the content of "World geography" and "Cultural diversity".Thirdly, According to the aims and content of "World geography" under the perspective of cultural diversity, illustrates five teaching methods by examples: demonstration teaching method, visiting teaching method, discovery teaching method, case teaching method and role-playing teaching method, and discusses the usage, advantages and points for attention of each teaching method respectively.Fourthly, based on the new concepts of curriculum, puts forward five suggestions for integrating multicultural education into "World geography" teaching. Setting teaching situations closely relating to students daily life; Paying more attention to the process of inquiring to enhance the students learning experience; Introducing courses on the subject of "Culture" to extend the learning content of geography; Enhancing interdisciplinary teaching to expand students cultural horizons; Carrying out more local geography practices to help students concern the local cultural development.
