Based on the Top Talk,a column of the magazine University, which is founded on October 2009, the dissertation selects 62 texts in the Top Talk from the year of 2009 to 2014. The dissertation is set in contemporary higher education reform and development of China, meanwhile, the study pays close attention to national policies、colleges development strategies and discourse style of figures. The dissertation focuses on the largest number of university Presidents among all interviewees especially. Firstly, the dissertation tries to explore education survival logic under surface characters; Secondly, the study makes a subjective and easier comparison among views on current education problems and contemporary topics、policies as well as discourses in hope of finding and discovering something which is worthy of being reflected in terms of higher education reform.This study selects bibliometric method and text analysis method to go over the column top talk with five-year course.First of all, the paper starts from an introduction to the column top talk, and then the transition to the people interviewed、the universities interviewed,full show of topics focus as well.Second, the paper makes a preliminary statistics and analysis of literature amounts, which involves the number of texts、the number of journalists、the number of co-reporters and the number of single text reporters. And then, the paper makes a statistics and analysis again with regard to the text theme, and thoroughly goes over the overall situation、the annual distribution and the major themes. With the help of the text analysis, the dissertation recalls interview backgrounds, and makes a correlation and differences comparison among contemporary hot topics、policies as well as discourses. Finally, the dissertation tries to interpret and comment on discourse style and core of university presidents through bibliometric method and text analysis method.Judging from the study presented, the dissertation finally reach the conclusion as follows.Firstly, from the perspective of magazine interviews, a selection of interviews、 ways to open dialogues and combination of interviewers themselves are problems, such as elite universities complex、lack of interaction and the editor being the first author, and so on; secondly, there are similarities between universities development strategies and era themes、social background and even national policies; Thirdly, there is a correlation among contemporary hot issues、national policies、universities development strategies and figures discourse expression which are set in contemporary higher education reform and development of China; Fourthly, the introduction of topics, such as files、meetings and speeches, seem somewhat rigid and inflexible, so that interviews are intervened. Fifthly, with some characteristics of universities presidents’ speeches, such as diversified subjects、a single form、less interaction、more formalities、lack of emotion and personality unknown, these are worthy of being made further efforts to study. It also seems that the responsible persons just scratch the surface and obscure the larger point.
