In Ming and Qing Dynasty, the prosperous economy and the developing family system of region south of Yangtze River provided a great fundamental for its family education. As a carrier of family education operation, the form of family education had set up new forms of education in accordance with different circumstances. It had brought new vitality to the development of education of a family and even the whole region. In the wake of larger investment to family education, its form had been expanded from basic education to elite education, with moral education and personnel training combined. In this paper, basing on the the various education forms of region south of Yangtze River in Ming and Qing Dynasty, we will discuss the formation,development and effect of the form of family education,one by one,combing the development of history. And we will conclude the comprehensive operation system of various family education forms and pay attention to their functions,relationships and methods. I hope this will be helpful to the current family education forms.In this paper, we will first introduce the background, the summary, the meaning and the content of the research topic. Second, I will share a brief introduction of the development of the family education form in the region. Then we will focus on the three types of family education forms of the region at that time, which are school education form, training education form and special education form. Finally, we will discuss the operation system of the family education form, make a conclusion of its feature and its idea, definite its historical value and limitation, and draw some inspiration useful to the current society.The education form had played an important part in the family education of region south of Yangtze River in Ming and Qing Dynasty. As a form showing the variety of the family education, it had conformed to the times and had met the needs of family development. The cores are clan ethics, family harmony and rational thinking. Education nowadays is facing new transition, so we must examine the traditional education critically and combine education with morality. We need to learn from the traditional education as is needed and turn it into wisdom, so that traditional education and modern education can be grafted.
