The issue of animal rights is very important in philosophy for children. It refers to the animal as biological species should own the right to be represent from human, including the basic right to exist, right to freedom and the right against torture.Animal is known to children in their daily life.how to fairly treat animals, animals should have which kind of rights and so on, such issues research has philosophical interest and practical education significance.Research 1 adopts the self-compiled questionnaire as survey tool, Compiling the "3 to 8 years old children animal rights attitude questionnaire":carrying on the interview investigation to120 children at a kindergarten and a primary school in Tianjin, in order to explore children’s attitudes towards animal. Research shows:The whole three age children’s understanding level were growth, which freedom from torture level is the highest, followed by the right to subsistence and the right to freedom, different age stage’s characteristics of philosophical thinking showed significant age differences.Research 2 chooses two parallel 5-6-years children as intervention object, designing the philosophy theme education activities of children animal rights base on existing education philosophy research,taking class as the unit is divided into the experimental group and the control group, experimental group and control group development level of children’s attitude towards animal rights are fairly. Taking 12 weeks intervention training on two experimental group about right to exist, right to freedom and the right against torture. After 12 weeks,two groups were measured their difference before and after the test. Research shows:5-6-years-old children have sprouted Philosophic thinking, children’s philosophy of education activities can promote children’s cognitive skills. Most of them could use the abstract philosophical concepts,and especially ask for animal rights and speculation. Meanwhile the 5-6-year-old children could use multiple ways to interpret the animal rights philosophically viewpoint, such as dialectics, metaphysics, epistemology. and the depth of understanding is also significantly improved.According to the results of this study, the paper puts forward the following suggestions:(1) To improve the understanding of the philosophical education for children.-(2)Introducing excellent western philosophy of children’s books, developing the local children’s philosophical textbook suiting to Chinese children.(3) Cultivate the teachers of children’s philosophy course.(4)Strengthen the empirical philosophy research of young children.
