In the recent years, internet technology and mobile device has been rapid developed and popularized. However, there are many poorly designed apps in the app store. This situation is affecting the performance of the learners and restricting the development of mobile learning. Although, the researchers had done many researches, most of them focused on the development and designing of the mobile learning platform, and most of them did not analyze the key factors affecting the performance of mobile learning.Given these realities confusion and lack of theoretical research, In this paper, I will based on cognitive load theory, learning theory and learning motivation theory to study the changes brought by mobile learning, and to find out how it affects the performance of learners. I will propose mobile learning performance factors model, In order to assist mobile learning software and curriculum designers to make better design, to promote the development of mobile learning. In this paper, the research objects are those who have mobile learning experience. In the end, 251 valid questionnaires were collected to analysis the theoretical model and research hypotheses. Finally, by confirmatory factor analysis of the reliability and validity of measurement scale, and the results show the scale has high internal consistency, convergent and discriminant validity, indicating the scale construct effective. Then, verify the theoretical model using structural equation, the index shows a fitting model has good validity. This study showed that: course selection autonomy, convenience of communication between the learner’s, human-computer interaction and reasonability of interface design are significantly impact on the cognitive load of learners. Moreover, cognitive load has a significant impact on cognitive load the learners’ mobile learning self-efficacy and learning engagement, cognitive load is the impact on learners’ learning performance by these two mediating variables. Herein assumed nine path relations, only cognitive load direct impact on academic performance has not verified, and finally the model will be helpful for future mobile curriculum design and software developmentListed are the main contributions of this paper:Firstly,it complements the academic performance factors research in the field of mobile learningMost mobile learning research focus on technical areas(such as design of mobile learning platform, mobile learning resources design) and theoretical studies of mobile learning. Few research papers analyze the key factors of learner performance from the point of view of the learnersSecondly,it expands the application range of cognitive load theory. The cognitive load model is to analyze the relationship between the amount of cognitive resources that learners need to perform in the specific learning task, and the total cognitive resources of learners. The theoretical model of the current study focused on rigorous psychological research, certain research already have some remarkable accomplishment, but experimental study has to strictly control experimental variables as well as the unity and limitations of the test material, these factors make the cognitive load theory too difficult to applicated in other areas. So, in this paper, I innovatively use cognitive load theory to analyze the influence factors of mobile learning compare to the traditional learning, and provide reference case studies for the other scholars.Thirdly, in this paper, I verified the influence of mobile learning various factors and critical path learner performance, veried the self-efficacy and learning engagement between cognitive load and learning performance play an intermediary role, as well as provide reasonable suggestions for mobile learning courses and software designers.
