Making mistakes is always there in math learning. Actually, making mistakes is unavoidable. No matter it’s the teacher or the student, they have to look back over various mistakes. While these different mistakes show to what extent the students’ have mastered these related knowledge and skills. Therefore, these mistakes are magnificent to improve the efficiency in math teaching. So it is meaningful for middle school math teaching to take great advantage of such resources and to help students to correct their mistakes effectively. This paper is done according to vast documents related and the combination of several scholars’ points of views. It analyzes the mistakes the students, in Grade 7, in a specific, rural middle school, have made and the reasons why they commit such mistakes; puts forward several suggestions for middle school teachers to help students make less such mistakes in teaching, based on several students’ typical mistakes in integral expression learning. This paper discovers that:(1) The conceptual mistakes students have made results in their inaccurate understanding of specific concepts.(2) The mistakes students make in the mixture of formula equations and rules integral expression learning derives from their neglect of the procedures of deduction of formula equations and rules, instead, they only lay importance on formula equations and rules themselves.(3) The mistakes students make in analyzing the questions result in their memorizing the stereotypical questions types, mechanically applying the formula equations and rules.(4) The mistakes students make derives from their impreciseness and inflexibility in solving questions. As the confinement of time, condition and the competence of the author, this paper only studies the very students in a specific class, Grade 7. As the sample size is small, this study can only exert its use to some extent.
