Vocational college is an important part of our higher education. In terms of the education scale and the number of enrollment, it has occupied half of China’s higher education and has provided a large number of applied talents for economic and social development. So it is meaningful to strengthen vocational college students’ ideological and political education, in particular to their awareness of the "Chinese Dream". It is not only related to the vocational college’s school-running direction, prosperity and employment prospects, but also to the students’ vocational ideals,morality, and innovation.Currently, the condition of the vocational college students’ cognitive ability for realization of "Chinese Dream" is good in general. On the one hand, a majority of the students know and support "Chinese Dream" and are willing to contribute for itsrealization. On the other hand, few students confuse the concept of "Chinese Dream", they think it’s only the business of Party and government to realize "Chinese Dream" and cannot correctly handle the relationship between "individual dream" and "Chinese Dream". The main reason for the situation is that vocational college cannot promptly cope with students’ ideological disorder caused by dramatic social change as the ideological and political education is lack of specificity and effectiveness. In addition, there are other important reasons like small ages, less culture, weak self-control and the lack of political discrimination ability.we should adopt following measures to deal with the condition of the vocational college students’ cognitive ability for realization of "Chinese Dream". Firstly, we should add teaching contents of "Chinese Dream" in the ideological and political theory courses and reinforce the education of the students’ ideal education of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the socialist core values. Secondly, we should create a thick atmosphere of the cognitive ability for realization of "Chinese Dream" in campus culture and apply it in all aspects of social practice. Thirdly, during the practice, we should respect the individual difference of the vocational college students and solve their practical problem in ideology so as to link their "individual dream" with "Chinese Dream".
