With continuous development of education informationization, traditional education mode and concept constantly changes. Reforms in teaching methods are on the way and keep pace with world constantly innovation. Teacher professional development seeks a new way of improvement combining with the development of times. As the technology participated in the education and promoted the development of the education, the role of technology received widespread attention and practical application. Teacher professional development presents a new way of development, the concept and practice of online professional development emerges as the times required.With advances in technology the United States provided strong technology support for online teacher professional development and generated a lot achievements of theory and practice.Through theoretical research and practical exploration, we can get comprehensive understanding about online teacher professional development in America and the the enlightenment on the theory and practice. It provides references for our country to carry out online teacher professional development in the perspective of educational informatization. Furthermore, it accelerates the process of education informatization, so as to promote education development and social progress.Based on the above analysis, this paper through literature research combed the process, key questions and standards of online teacher professional development in America, and through case study explored online teacher professional development case:WIDE World and eMSS. Through theoretical and practical research, this paper obtained all-round understanding of online teacher professional development in America. On the basis of literature research and case study this paper concluded references of online teacher professional development. According to the relevant inspiration, this paper designed an online teacher professional development platform.
