With the full integration of the development of the global economy and China’s economy, the status of English as an international language is increasingly prominent, at the same time, the English speaking ability requirements are more significant. Our English curriculum standards in 2011 futher clarified the importance of English speaking ability, which stressed the instrumental and humanity of compulsary English courses. As for instrumental terms, it means students master the basic knowledge of the English language through English class and have the initial formental of the ability to communicate with others in Engish. With the emphasis on the ability to speak English, the study on English speaking ability in China is gradually increased. English speaking ability is very important during the teaching process. For students, English speaking ability not only lead the new knowledge of correction technology, but also for teacher, it can strengthern the initial acquisition of new knowledge through this way, thus to prevent the loss of knowledge. From these, the importance of English speaking ability is known to us. The primary school is the critical period and the optimazition phase to learn language. I observed in practice activities from the cllassroom, there are problems and defects of pupils’ English speaking ability. This article will focus on the subject of high-grade students’ English speaking ability in primary school to investigate and study.Based on the characteristics of chinese students, in order to fully test the students’ English speaking ability, in this paper, three different levels of primary schools of urumqi will do the oral test based on liu qin’s speaking ability rating scale. Through research, understand the overall situation of the current english speaking ability of high-grade students in primary school. Including the overall level of the current high-grade students in primary school students’ English speaking ability, specific problems of students in the spoken language ability and analyze the impact of English speaking ability from teachers’ teaching. At last, to come up with suggestions and countermeasures to improve. Students’ speaking ability based on specific problems and influencing factors.
