In resent years,with the technology and science of progress.Wehave entered the era of digitization and information.The contentof the digitization and informatization is mainly includingdigital processing of audio and video image data.Thus,all of theindustrial production and in daily life and production isincreasing demand on video monitoring. Based on computer networkand multimedia technology in video monitor system has a very broadapplication prospects.main issue of this article is development and research based onarm architecture of the embedded video server. Relative to the firstgeneration analog video monitoring system, embedded video systemis digital system which of characteristic is easy to networktransmission and extension ability. And relative to the videoserver based on personal computer or server platform as the coreof the second generation of digital surveillance system, embeddedvideo system of characteristic is a high real time capability, highstability, antiviral and high cost performance, etc.In our reseach,We choose S3C2440chip based on arm9architecture as the coredevelopment board, add to the operating system kernel with Linux-2.6.22.6as an embedded server system development platform,andbased on B/S (Browser/Server) service mechanism. the client can directly to video monitoring through the browser.From what has been discussed above, The embedded video servercan transmit the streaming of video information,and has a goodpracticability and stability by the test system.
