Reseach Of Network Management System Based On SNMP

With the rapid development of information technology, computer networks havepenetrated into all aspects of people’s life and work, it’s gradually becoming the maintool for obtaining information and communication. The various devices on the network,including routers and switches, has entered an unprecedented development stage. Thesedevices communicate with each other, and it inevitably needs reasonable allocationplanning through the network. At present, lots of network management systems arebased on snmp, which is the most popular network management protocol. Based on theAFDX network as the application background，this paper studies the design of thenetwork management system based on the snmp protocol, and describes therequirements, analyzes and designs of the system, and ultimately implements theexpected goals of the system, in strict accordance with the requirements of softwareengineering.During the requirements analysis phase, it is illustrated from the three aspects offunction, performance and interface. This paper puts forward the system design. Thesystem is divided into three subsystems, which are the GUI subsystem, protocolcommunication subsystem and database subsystem. Each subsystem is divided into aplurality of modules according to different functions, and each module is explained.This paper makes a detailed analysis of the protocol communication subsystem, whichis the key part of the network management system. This paper gives the interfacefunction and calling relationship between the modules. Encode function and decodefunction are the most important part in the system design, whose detailed processes areshowed. In the testing stage, the paper gives the design of the test environment and testcases, carries on the function test and performance test.The network management system designed by this paper, can meet the designrequirements. It worked properly and completed correctly the functions. This systemhad been extensively applied in practical.
