Research And Implementation Of Monitoring System Of Server Status Based On Network

Monitoring of servers’ status based on network is an important part of operation and maintenance of large-scale network. There are a lot of business interruptions caused by frequent server malfunctions and not timely of fault treatment. It affects business of enterprises seriously. Research and development of my project is according to requirements of automation support of power grid enterprise.Firstly, I study the standard functions of network monitoring and management system, architecture and standard protocols. Then I deeply research the structure of management information, MIB, architecture, packet formats and protocol operations of Simple Network Management Protocol(SNMP). Then I analyze and design monitoring system of servers’status based on network. According to the needs of power grid enterprise, I design various functional modules, MIB objects and database tables detailed of the system. Finally, I develop client and server programs of monitoring system of servers’ status based on NET-SNMP open source software, complete configuration management, data acquisition of hardware and software, threshold setting, data analysis and alarm management and other key functions.This system has passed the test run of secure access platform. It can monitor and manage servers’status of secure access platform normally, automatically feedback exception information of servers. The system radically reduces complexity of network monitoring and management.
