Research And Development Of Monitoring System For Network Servers

With the development of computer network, network management becomes one of the very important and indispensable parts to guarantee the stability and availability of network. As the core and soul of the network, servers, they occupy the position that can not be ignored. The Simple Network Management Protocol has become the industry-standard to manage the TCP/IP network. According to the actual needs, we designed a monitoring system for network servers based on SNMP.Firstly, this article introduces some related concepts and principles of the network management. After analyzing some possible servers'abnormities and the Management Information Base (MIB) of SNMP, the servers'parameters are defined. Secondly, we design the system general framework and the database table structure which store these management objects which represent severs'parameters. We propose a data-colleting strategy based on data-type and realize the partial monitoring function. At last we give some summery and prospect of this paper.
