| With the rapid development of mobile Internet, people demand for mobile terminals’traffic continued to expand. Because the traditional base station can not meet people’s requirements, a new distributed base station architecture comes into being. The new architecture needs to make REC (Radio Equipment Control) and RE (Radio Equipment) transmit data reliably, stably and rapidly. CPRI protocol is an interface standard between a REC and a RE. In order to further standardize and improve the CPRI protocol, people make a concrete implementation and verification, so that make CPRI protocol be a general standard interface protocol.This paper aims to design and implement the hardware interface module of CPRI. On the basis of CPRI communication protocol, by using a FPGA, this paper realizes the implementation of the CPRI protocol and its hardware circuit. Firstly, this paper has research on the development and implementation of the CPRI protocol, and designs many methods to realize it. By contrast, this paper uses soft-core as CPU and FPGA as the hardware to realize the system, analyses and verifies the critical technology of the implementation. Then by using Xilinx’s Virtex-6FPGA chip, this paper designs each module’s circuit. In order to make the interface module build star network or chain network, the paper designs a method, encapsulating several CPRI cores in an IP core, with a common clock source. The IP core can be configured by peripheral interface, making it applicable to REC and RE. Finally, the paper tests and verifies the interface module.The paper’s result shows that the CPRI interface module can be widely used in future mobile communications networks with its volume is small, weight is light, ratio of property to price is high and convenient implementation. |
