In recent years, the technology of distributed systems is rapidly developing; it has been applied in many aspects of people’s lives, since each node in the system has to complete the task together, need to be consistent over time. However the distributed network is generally large-scale and with complex structure, and under the influence of these objective factors, the accuracy of time synchronization between nodes is often not high and difficult to meet the requirements, in this case, this paper studies the precision time synchronization method based on IEEE1588protocol and NTP protocol.This paper analyzes the synchronization mechanism and key technology of IEEE1588protocol and NTP protocol, compares the advantages and disadvantages of both combining with aspects of the impact of time synchronization, come to a conclusion that IEEE1588protocol is better. Next, design the entire hardware system, including chip selection and design of the power module, the main chip connection module and Ethernet physical layer transceiver module, and transplant the on-chip system and protocol stack.Upon completion of the construction work of these platforms, synchronization is completed in two parts, the first part is to achieve NTP protocol, and describes the algorithm that is used in the implementation and the process of the entire program, the second part is to achieve IEEE1588protocol, and describes the adaptive mechanism of IEEE1588protocol and the algorithm that is used in the implementation, the process of entire program is divided into three parts, namely:the program of synchronize between the master clock and the GPS receiver, the master clock program of synchronize between the master clock and the slave clock, the slave clock program of synchronize between the master clock and the slave clock.Finally, test the entire synchronization system, and analyze the results.In this paper, the master clock of the time synchronization system of IEEE1588protocol is designed to synchronize with dual-source, synchronized with the PC via the NTP protocol while synchronized with a GPS receiver, this design extends the scope of application of the system, and improves parts of the algorithms of NTP protocol and IEEE1588protocol.
