With the rapid development of mobile Internet technology, communication systems are moving towards LTE (Long Term Evolution) era, the phone need to be small, versatile, high-performance, which put forward higher requirements for the design of mobile terminal internal antenna. In order to meet the needs of modern communication systems, small size, wide-band, multi-band, multi-function mobile phone antennas are increasingly being studied and applied.Firstly, the current mainstream types of internal mobile phone antenna (planar monopole antenna and planar inverted-F antenna) are analyzed in detail, the important indicators and parameters of mobile phone antenna are discussed, and the various design methods of mobile phone antenna are described in detail, including miniaturization, multi-band, wide band technology.Secondly, with meeting the 4G mobile communications, two mobile phone antennas are designed. The mobile phone communications six-band (LTE700/GSM85 0/GSM900/DCS1800/PCS1900/UMTS2100) could be covered by the first 4G antenna. Based on the first antenna model, three U-bend fold minors are added to the second antenna. the second antenna could cover the entire LTE band (LTE700/2300/2500), GSM850, GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900, WCDMA2100, Bluetooth(2400MHz-2480MHz), WLAN(2400MHz-2484MHz), WiMAX (2305MHz-2400MHz/2500MHz-2690MHz), and compared with the first antenna, the volume of the dielectric substrate is reduced 2576mm3.Finally, the size of the antennas-specific parameters is optimized and determined by HFSS. The prototype of the simulated and optimized antennas are fabricated, tested and analyzed. The results show that in the working band, S11 is less than -6dB, VSWR less than 3, two proposed antennas-indicators meet the engineering requirements, and good performance verifies the feasibility of the design.
