In the field of image processing,video tracking is a technology of great significance and difficult.Nowadays,this practical technology is applied to many areas,such as criminal investigation,military,public security and other fields. Generally,to achieve this algorithm of video tracking, we can use the method of hardware or software.However,cxperience suggests:In the process of.video tracking,we can choose the method of hardware to achieve the high resolution,which is a better choice.With the rapid development of embedded technology,video tracking system is developing towards:Low cost,good performance,high accuracy,easily portable and so on.In this paper,to realize the video tracking algorithm,we use FPGA with powerful image processing capabilities.The paper mainly introduces a design of real-time video tracking system based on FPGA.The complete system consists of five modules,for instance:video capture, data storage, tracking algorithm implementation, VGA display and image processing.The corresponding function of each module is explained as follows:Videc capture part mainly realizes the register configurations of camera OV7670and video data receiving;Data storage part accomplishes the transmission of image data in the cross clock, and prepares for data processing;VGA display part finishes the signal conversion of digital to analog, which is achieved by synchronization signals generated by VGA controller control the chip ADV7123that converts the signals from analog to digital,and display the video on the display;Through the conversion of color space and the object color information,the image processing part achieves tracking of the target object,and the target marked by16*16red rectangular box which is used to draw a rectangle to mark the upper part of the human body.. The experimental results show that,the system can well realize the people tracking.In the paper, the skin pixel discrimination by a variety of color space at the same time is the innovation point, and calculating the centroid of the skin where to draw the scope of the human upper body. We do algorithm modeling by VerifogrFirst, carries on the design of video capture and display based on FPGA, then, do the design of color identification and marking of human skin and so on.
