Designing And Developing The Opening Laboratory System Of Teaching Informative Management(Oltim) For Zhongshan Technician College

With the development of social economy and scientific technology, laboratory teaching, as the central part in technical education today, has been more demanded from parents and teachers with their changing views on it. In order to train more occupation-oriented talents, helping them to be more competitive in the job market, the college intends to combine the needs of local community and industrial upgrading, to equip 37 professional labs for nine faculties to monitor the teaching. But with an increasingly growing number of students, the traditional lab system is no longer satisfied with their needs. A series of questions, like “What sorts of teaching contents can interest students?” “How to teach students?” or “How to identify the roles of teachers and students respectively?” have been raised and concerned. Also topics such as “ taking advantages of current resources” and “adapting high technologies to improve the quality of lab teaching” have been heatedly discussed today. There is no doubt that as a new type of lab teaching, the Opening Laboratory System of Teaching Informative Management(OLTIM) can cooperate effectively with the traditional model to provide computerized network for students without a limit of time and space.The current lab teaching system is lacking of management. Focusing on this problem, the OLTIM has been designed and set up after a careful study on the current lab teaching system at home and abroad. Combining the technology of NET, ASPNET, AJAX, B/S and database, this system will be more user-friendly for both lab administrators and teachers. Also it can motivate students to take part into real study through their own practices.Starting from the background and function of the topic, this paper is to analyze the current situation of OLTIM and predict its future trend through illustrating its key technologies. OLTIM is a system created in the purpose of meeting teaching need of Zhongshan Technician College. Through E-R technology, seven parts can be found in the system, including LOGIN, STUDENT INFOR, TEACHER INFOR, COURSES, APPOITMENTS and SYSTEM INFOR. Taking advantage of the target, V2008 and ASPNET, all the functional areas in this system can be effected. After testing, the system has been approved to completed, reliable and user-friendly, meeting needs from all aspects.
