The extention of electronic system bandwidth urges the emergence of high speed data transmit and processing such as high-speed and high-bit-width A/D and D/A. Faced to high-speed precision sampling data in a variety of applications, it is usually hard for current system to entirely transmit the high speed data stream to peripheral storage device. Hence, the main purpose of this thesis is to introduce a 2Gbps high-speed data fiber transmission module based on PCI Express bus.The opening part will firstly give a blue print according to the practical requirements. PCI Express is used as the protocol between the data transmission module and the host computer. Fiber and FC(Fiber Channel) protocol is used for the data transmission between the module and data source. Subsequently, in the PCI Express data path partition, the scheme of the PCI Express and the hierarchical data packet structure are first analyzed. Secondly, it is the configuration of the PCI Express Hard IP by which the physical and link layer of PCI Express are realized. In the rest of the part, based on PCI Express protocol, we design a PIO base low speed module and a DMA module are used for high speed data transmission.In the Fiber data path partition, there is an overview of the Fiber data path design based on the FC-1 and FC-2 layer of FC protocol. Afterwards, the thesis introduces the design of the data transmission and receiving logic of fiber data path, the control logic, and the configuration of the transceiver. The purpose of this partition is to realize the high speed transmission of fiber data. At last of this partition, based on AXI4-Stream bus, we design the FC-PCI Express interconnection logic to achieve the high speed fiber data transmission.In the last part, the thesis presents the test result of the fiber data transmission module, followed by the verification of whether the design is reach the expected goal described in this thesis.
