This task is to research the G.729 encoding in the core network to achieve the WCS(Wireless Call Server) in the SIP communication. This topic of this paper is a subproject named G.729 for SIP originates from a investigative project of Alcatel-Lucent: Wireless Call Server. The purpose of this paper is state the realization process of this task, accordingly, the WCS server can handle a wide variety of codec include the G.729. Complements the SIP communication mechanism to select the voice codec logic. The main results of this study are as follows:Careful analysis to understand the advantages of SIP-related agreements and the existing G.729 encoding scheme, elaborated value and application prospects of thesis.Achieve proper handling SDP and Codec information in the WCS server, and improve the existing standard server processing SDP and Codec information.During a session, by analyzing various SIP message the server may receive, and the SDP information carried in the SIP message, the server can process those message correctly, and recognize the G.729 coding method and complete the codec negotiation.Coding all the research, And through rigorous testing, used in the core network server system management software.The research results have been through various stages of Alcatel-Lucent’s testing, And successfully used as Alcatel-Lucent products for network operators.
