Along with the steady development of the space of wireless communication technology, various advanced wireless communication technologies are emerging in an endless stream, originally simple function, poor interoperability and poor universality of transmitter, increasingly unable to meet demands of the market with better performance of products. This paper, S band digital modulation transmitter can be widely used in the field of space wireless communication, which uses digital PCM/FM modulation technology, can very well using computer programming, then be implemented in FPGA, effectively solve the current problems of space transmitter.S band digital modulation transmitter based on FPGA is completed by a total of four parts, respectively is:PC interface, voltage regulator module, digital intermediate frequency module and RF module. Signals in FPGA achieve PCM digital signal digital modulation, and the DAC device to complete digital signal to analog signal conversion, finally at the end of the radio frequency (RF) after two conversion completed S-band RF signal output. The input signal’s code rate and the output frequency point of the radio signal can be flexibly set on the upper computer interface, and the setting can be stored in real time, even if the power down is still not lost.The paper adopts PCM/FM modulation technology, with the advantage of high accuracy, dynamic range and anti-interference,and in the process of designing the space transmitter, give full consideration to the transmitter’s reliability, stability, heat resistance and electromagnetic compatibility, finally after the actual test found that the developed transmitter’s input and output parameters meet the design of requirements, and the hardware circuit is simple, easy to use, can realize the data transmission with high speed, and have strong versatility and good interoperability.
