Steel related to the people’s livelihood, is the important commodity and the base of theheavy industry. It’s importance is self-evident. Since2000, The added value of the iron andsteel industry is more than5%of the value added of industry proportion. In2009, China’scrude steel output was568million tons,46.6%of global crude steel production. The steelindustry sector was282.4billion yuan, accounting for2.42%of GDP in China.Visibly, thesteel industry has made an important contribution for the economic development of ourcountryUnder the economic globalization’s situation to win the competition, the informationtechnology applications have the pivotal function to the enterprise. The enterprise must in thefoundation which the management transforms, introduces ERP the advanced managementmodel and idea, implements ERP comprehensively, optimizes the allocation of their overallresources, and improves business management. But the reality is that “ERP implementation isdifficult, the success rate is low.”Through the review of literature materials, this paper summarizes the ERP developmentsteps; analyzes the influential factors to ERP implementation, discovers critical factors. Basedon this, proposes a critical success factors model. This model includes7critical successfactors: chief leader’s support, business process reengineering, education and training,simulation, project management, system choosing and the corporate culture.On the basis of the person’s mature, this paper develops the questionnaire to use tosurvey and describe critical success factors and the ERP system is successful. Throughinvestigated6corporations, HB iron and steel group with the implementation of the ERPsystem, analyzes the questions which existed in ERP implementation, discusses criticalsuccess factors, and using multiple regression to analyze the data, verifies the assumption ofthis paper.7critical success factors for successful implementation of ERP systems have apositive role in promoting: chief leader’s support, business process reengineering, theeducation and training, the simulation and project management are confirmed that ERPimplementation’s critical success factors for the HB iron and steel enterprise, business processreengineering is most prominent; Because the critical success factors’ mutual influence, thesystem choosing and the corporate culture to the ERP system success are inferior to the first5factors, but they still have the positive influence to the ERP system success.
