The Internet of things(IOT) technology is a new generation of improving core competitiveness of national and social economic growth, but for livelihood industries, most private, small and medium IOT enterprise’s products and technology’s successful application rate is very low in the process of commercial application. So finding the critical success factors of IOT commercial application, improving the successful application rate have become the focus of government, scholars.Under the support of “Inside Real Innovation” theory, this thesis conducts the research to find the critical success factors of IOT application innovation based on the Classic Grounded Theory. It includes three aspects:(1) What critical factors does IOT application innovation include?(2) Among these critical factors, which 10 critical factors have more influence for IOT application innovation(TOP 10)?(3) Whether the TOP 10 critical success factors exist structure relationship, if exists, what is the structure relationship between them?In the first step, we choose three networking company in Guangzhou as the samples, namely company A, company B, company C. We get the preliminary data through investigation and depth interviews. Based on the classic grounded theory, we build the preliminary model of critical success factors of private, small and medium IOT enterprise for commercial application in livelihood industries through analyzing the preliminary data. We find out 40 critical success factors, which divides 40 critical success factors into three dimensions, namely technology, market and implement.The second step is validate our preliminary model and get the weight of each factor with the factor analysis method through the form of questionnaire for 40 critical success factors. We find the top 10 critical success factors, they are: concept understanding of technology for IOT, lack basic industry, the life cycle of IOT technology, owning IOT core technology, relevant industry chain of upstream and downstream enterprises provides supporting resources, IOT industry and competitor survey, the promotion and policy support of state and government, marketing strategy diversity, market positioning in complex industrial chain structure, multiple channel construction.Finally, we analyze the internal structural relationship of TOP 10 critical success factors with Interpretive Structural Modeling(ISM) method, construct the ISM model of the critical success factors of private, small and medium IOT enterprise for commercial application in livelihood industries. We identify the root critical success factors of the model, which are IOT industry and competitor survey, market positioning in complex industrial chain structure.To sum up, this research is to the critical success factors of IOT application innovation based on the “Inside Real Innovation” theory, classic grounded theory, critical success factors theory, factor analysis, ISM method. We put forward the ISM model of the TOP10 critical success factors of IOT application innovation. The purpose is to improve the success rate of private, small and medium IOT enterprise for commercial application in livelihood industries.
