Mining industry is one of the basic industries which are critical to China’seconomic and social development. Whether mineral resources could be steadilysupplied is directly related to our country’s economic and social development, andecological civilization construction and national rejuvenation. Along with thesustained and rapid growth of our economy, our demand for all kinds of mineralresources is increasing day by day. As the further development of global economicintegration and the misbalance of mineral resources, we need to search mineralresources on the global vision. Our country has been making national strategy of“Going aboard” so as to encourage and support conditional enterprises actively,therefore geological exploration enterprises could seize this opportunity and goabroad, more and better use of foreign resources.Due to overseas mineral exploration is a kind of investment which shows thecharacteristics of long period with high risk and high reward, the geologicalexploration enterprises should adhere to the strategy of "Going Abroad", making fulluse of "two resources, two markets", looking for mineral resources which required forChina’s economic and social development. Meanwhile the geological explorationenterprises should ensure that they have taken the right way to "Going Abroad" andcould be "coming back" safely. We should balance the pace of "Going Abroad" and"coming back" so as to achieve the stable growth and sustainable development oftransnational operation. Therefore it is crucial for geological exploration enterprises tomake rational strategic planning before the implementation of "Going Abroad"strategy of mineral resources.HK Geological Exploration Group is considered to be the research object in thispaper, basing on the combination of theory and actual cases research, the author firstintroduces the background of "Going Abroad" strategy and domestic geologicalexploration industry, discusses the research significance of this paper. Then in thesecond chapter the author introduces the general situations of HK GeologicalExploration Group as well as the achievements after it has take the strategy of "GoingAbroad", and introduces the actual situation of HK Geological Exploration Group. Inthe third chapter the author analyses the risk factors that geological explorationenterprises may encounter when they conduct overseas mineral exploration events. The author use the PEST analysis model to analyze the exterior environment that HKgeological exploration group involves in the fourth chapter. And sum up the keyelements of exterior environment which will impact the HK geological explorationgroup. On the other hand, in the fifth chapter the author use the SWOT analysis toolsto discuss the strengths and weaknesses of HK and to find the opportunities HK maytake and threats it has meet so as to find the competitive advantages. At last, in thesixth chapter the author formulate the specific goal and strategy of "Going Abroad".Based on the analysis of this paper, we can draw a conclusion that it is feasibleand operable for geological exploration enterprises to take the strategy of “GoingAbroad”. It has realistic and guiding significance for the geological explorationenterprises during the implementation of the strategy of “Going Abroad”.
