The Study On Income Gap Of Redidents In Qinhuangdao City From The Perspective Of The Government

With the transformation and the rapid development of the economy ofQinhuangdao City, as well as significant improvement of the people’s livingstandards, the income gap is also increasingly prominent. This paper selects theincome data of Qinhuangdao Statistical Yearbook from1993to2011, and analyzesthe status of the income gap between urban and rural areas, industries and regions ofQinhuangdao City. With the EXCEL software, the Theil index and the GreyRelational Analysis are used to analyze the structural decomposition and influencingfactors of income gap. The study found the residents of Qinhuangdao City betweenurban and rural areas, industries and regions have a big income gap caused byirrational factors.Firstly, the related theories of the residents income gap are expound. On onehand, the related concepts, theory and measurement of the income gap are alsointroduced. On the other hand, from social equity point of view, the impact of theincome gap between the rational and irrational factors are described.Secondly, in the situation of gap of income of residents in the city ofQinhuangdao, through the relevant data of residents’ income collation, the evolutiontrend of income gap between urban and rural areas, industries and regions have beenanalyzed. Theil index has been used to analyze the structural decomposition of theincome gap. The social problems caused by the income gap have been pointed outaccording to the present situation of the resident income gap of Qinhuangdao City.Moreover,the factors of income gap between urban and rural areas have beencompared by the Grey Relational Analysis. The specific reasons of the residentincome gap between urban and rural have been analyzed.At the same time, thespecific reasons of the industry and local income gap have also been analyzed withthe combination of industry and local income gap structure.Finally, according to the analysis of the main problems and the specific reasonsof the resident income gap of Qinhuangdao City, measures and suggestions to narrow the income gap among Qinhuangdao residents have been put forwardcombined with the actual situation.The proposals conclude structural reform,risingthe living standard of the peasants,developing the regional characteristiceconomy,decreasing harmful competition and strengthening legal supervision.
