Research On The Role Of Internet Access To Urban-rural Integration

According to statistics, at the end of2013China’s urbanization rate has reached53.7%. This shows that China’s urbanization increased significantly. At the sametime,the evaluation report of Chinese informatization development level in2013,released the information index from52.94in2010to74.84in2012,the average annualgrowth of18.9%. The significant development contributes to economic and socialdevelopment. But at the same time, the contradictions between urban and rural are stillprominent, so in order to narrow the widening gap between urban and rural areas, theeighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China have proposed thedevelopment of urban and rural integration is the fundamental way to solve ruralproblems. Internet as representative of the emerging information and communicationtechnology (ICT) is driving the changes in the world,and promoting the development ofsocial demographic, economic, planning and management, knowledge, technology. Canthe use of new information and communication technologies bridging the gap betweenacademics become the focus of public attention, therefore, Combining quantitative andqualitative study to study the relationship between access and rural integration approachhas important significance.It is worth noting that Internet as representative of the emerging information andcommunication technologies also brings with a new wealth gap,the fourth largest divideof the “digital divide”. Whether to access to the internet is the most representativesymbol of information rich and information poor,which has close relationship withurban-rural integration development,and Internet as representative of the emerginginformation and communication technologies is likely to widen the gap further deeperbetween urban and rural areas. So we must make a deeper study of the relationshipbetween the two to find the way to solve China’s development gap between urban andrural. It will play an important role in building a “harmonious society” and promotingthe development of urban-rural integrated.Based on the study of urban-rural integration concept connotation, this papersummarizes the definition and performance of urban-rural integration. In order topromote urban-rural integration method and propose policy recommendations, thispaper establishes a comprehensive evaluation methods and measurement model ofurban-rural integration, and analyzes the current situation of China’s Internet access and the integration of urban and rural areas, the applies factor analysis to evaluate the levelof development of China’s urban-rural integration, and analyzes the role of China’sInternet access to urban-rural integration combined regression analysis.
