Large-scale online collaboration produced after emergence of the Internet has broughtone of the biggest benefits to people, but the core of the open source movement isundoubtedly the production of the revolution, while the core of this model is thatcommunity-based production activities. Component of the open source community, as wellas project developers, are constantly influence each other, and continue the cycle ofproduction, eliminated its internal mechanism is self-organization, and through the evolutionof self-organized critical state will arrive, but in the whole process large and small “avalancheincident" occurs. Therefore, this paper will examine the open source community as those“being phased out “items that fail avalanche effect of the project. This paper follows the basic questions, theoretical research, networking models andempirical research process. First, access to domestic and international research literature, based on in-depth study of the problems and needs of operational development of the opensource community appears currently in the process of determining the research object, and theintegrated use of self-organized criticality theory, complex network theory, systemengineering theory, data collection, etc. methods of avalanche phenomena in the field ofopen source community project failed to analyze, study the mechanism they produce andexisting laws. In this paper, a cascade relationship between the failure of the project startingpoint for the study and the project failed to consider the avalanche power, construct a complexnetwork model based on the relationship of the project. Finally, this article will help some ofthe data mining concept, the world’s largest collection complete development process all thedata for the empirical study avalanche effect failed projects. The value of this research is: First, the complete use of self-organized criticality theoryto study the effect of the open source community fails avalanche Project, with a theoreticalvalue of innovation. Secondly, a complete description of the locomotive collector for anevolution of the Internet community data collection and processing methods has somepractical significance. In addition, in-depth analysis of the operational status of the open source community athome and abroad to discuss the status and future of domestic open source community hascertain practical significance. Finally, after evidence was found Sourceforge.net open sourcecommunity has obvious characteristics of self-organized criticality, in a mature systemdevelopment, and put forward three policy recommendations, with a certain sense ofeconomic management.
