Research On The Development Of Urbanization In Guangdong Province On The Impact Of Residents’ Consumption

This article put attention on studying the impact of the development of urbanization inGuangdong on residents’ consumption demand. It analyzes the characteristics of theurbanization in Guangdong and describes the features of the residents’ consumptionboth in urban and rural. It studies the impact of urbanization on residents’consumption by applying the co-integration analysis. And it uses the VAR model andimpulse response method to analyze the dynamic relationship between urbanizationand residents’ consumption. Base on the above analysis, this paper would give somerelevant suggestions at last.Through theoretical analysis and empirical analysis, this paper come to someconclusions as follow: First, the comprehensive urbanization in Guangdong has beengrowing slower than the urbanization of population in Guangdong. Second, there hasbeen a great gap between urban and the rural in consumption demand, the rate ofconsumption, the average consumption propensity, and the consumption structure.And then, there is a long steady relationship between urbanization and urbanresidents’ consumption demand, and so it is between urbanization and rural residents’consumption. The residents’ consumption demand in rural and urban would increasewith the urbanization improving. Last, the result of impulse response analysis showsthat the positive effect of urbanization development on urban residents’ consumptionis larger than the positive effect of urbanization development on rural residents’consumption.
