Study On Competence Of Listed Commercial Banks Of China

As the economic globalization and financial integration has become obvious,ourcountry’s commercial bank is facing more opportunity and challenge. Theacceleration of openness of financial markets, mass landing of foreign banks,liberalization of capital market rate, openness of capital account, emersion of theinternet finance, All of these factors put forward higher requirements to efficientmanagement of our commercial banks. According to statistics, in2012, the assets of17listed commercial bank in our country have reached86.3trillion, occupied83%ofthe total assets of the China’s banking sector. Thus, as the most dynamic part ofChina’s financial industry, listed commercial banks’ competitiveness has veryimportant effect on the economic development of our country. At present, comparedwith large foreign banks, the overall competitiveness of our listed commercial banksis not optimistic. How to further improve competitiveness of our commercial bankshas become more and more crucial. Therefore, analysis and research of thecompetitiveness of our listed commercial banks has important theoretical andpractical significance.Under the above background, this paper uses factor analysis to study and discussthe competitiveness of our17listed commercial banks. Firstly, this thesis presents thebackground, significance and methods of study. Secondly, the thesis summarizesrelated theory about enterprise competitiveness and bank competitiveness and theexisting research results. Then, this paper analyzes the present situation of our listedcommercial banks’ competitiveness. Moreover, this article selects the17listedcommercial Banks in China as the research object and uses their annual2012report asthe data source. This paper uses factor analysis method to evaluate thecompetitiveness of these listed commercial banks and finally determines theircompetitiveness ranking. In the end, this paper gives some suggestions on improvingthe competitiveness of our countries’ listed commercial banks according to theanalyzed results.
