With the promulgation and implementation of the central authorities’ eight provisions and sixban, it forced the catering and hotel industries to turn their target markets gradually tomiddle and low-end mass markets.<The Outline of National Leisure Travel> also points outthe importance of developing national leisure travel. In addition,Middle-class is mainconsuming forces. So, mass tourism market will be given much more importance in thefuture, and family tourism as a usual form of mass tourism deserves more attentions andstudies.Theoretically, the paper will make family tourism research more conform to the actualsituation of China according to Chinese traditional culture. Practically, studies onconsumption preferences of city family tourism can also provide reference of the marketdevelopment and corresponding marketing strategies for tourism sectors and tourismenterprises.At first, this paper will use questionnaires among one thousand tourists in Chime-longtourist resort involving travel overall characteristics, travel cognitive preferences and basicevaluation of tourist service facilities in a tourist destination. Then, the researcher will holdinterview with families at different life cycles. Finally, this paper will discuss how todevelop family tourism products and propose some marketing strategies according to thepreferences and influencing factors of family tourism consumption.
