European Union, which is a national combination based on cooperation ofmultiple European sovereign countries, plays an indispensable role in promotingeconomic globalization and multi-polarization of international politics as well asassume an important part in world situation. As Chinese comprehensive strengthimprove gradually, in order to enhance its political and economic strength, EU isalways adjusting its policies to China to strengthen bilateral relationship betweenChina and EU.The development of the bilateral relationship is of great importance tobuild a new order of international economy and politics. The relationship betweenChina and EU has been an important topic affecting globally international relations atpresent.This paper, which sets EU’ s policies to China in1990s as its background,discusses what effect EU’ s policies to China in1990s leave on economic and politicalrelations between China and EU.The paper consists of three chapters as follows. The first chapter mainly makes abrief review of EU’ s policies to China with its characteristics before1990s.Thecontent of EU’ s policies to China and its characteristics in1990s are briefly discussedin the second chapter. The third chapter makes a specific analysis of EU’ s policiesto China in1990, as well as reveal that EU’ s economic policies to China in1990splays an important part in promoting economy of China and EU based onachievements from economic cooperation between China and EU under these policies.
