Investment-linked insurance originated in Netherlands of Europe and developedrapidly in the UK Europe and gradually became the main insurance products inEurope and American insurance market. In1999Ping An Insurance who firstlyintroduced "Century Financial investment-linked insurance" to our country, since themajor insurance companies have launched their own investment-linked insuranceproducts. At the beginning, the insurance companies have achieved good marketperformance under the influence of a huge marketing campaign, but because theinsurance companies awareness about the investment-linked insurance was still in theexploration period, lacked of experience of sales and operations and at the same timecapital market was downturn, resulting in late twice more serious large-scalecentralized surrender activity which the industry called "investment-linked crisis."Two "investment-linked crisis" have had a profound impact on the development ofinvestment-linked insurance, exposing many problems in the investment-linkedinsurance development process. China has experienced two "investment-linkedinsurance crisis" and effected seriously insurance companies stable operation.so it isnecessary to sum up the experience of crisis.This article first reviewed two crisis processes and then introduced investment-linkedinsurance products and analyzed how two "investment-linked crisis" happened.Finally according to the development of investment-linked insurance in Britain andAmerica and other countries give appropriate suggestions about how to developinvestment-linked insurance in our country separately from the agent and insurer toinsurance supervisors.
