Research On The Problems And Countermeasures Of China’s Coal Mine In The Process Of Going Abroad

With the rapid development of China’s economy，the domestic demand in energyresources has increased. As the most important primary energy，coal has drained offunder the increasing domestic demand. At the same time, in the face of the imbalanceof structure in domestic coal resources，it has been a urgent matter for our coalenterprises to go abroad seeking for overseas coal resources. Recent years, under thegovernment’s guidance of encouraging our coal mine enterprises which is full ofadvantages to going abroad for overseas coal mine resources exploration and under theimpetus of global financial crisis, more and more coal mine enterprises in our countrybegan to carry out the activities of going abroad to develop overseas coal mineresources, which have made the activities of going abroad gradually achieve a upsurge.However, among the numerous projects of going abroad, the activities of going abroadof our coal mine enterprises has not been known as successful, which has exposed manyproblems.This paper based on the theory of transnational direct investment, summarized thecurrent situation of the activities of going abroad of our coal mine enterprises, at thesame time combined the situation of spot investigation in our coal enterprises whichhave operated the going abroad activities, and analyzed the problems in the process ofgoing abroad of our coal mine enterprises from four aspects: the subject of goingabroad, the region selection of going abroad, the method of going abroad and thebusiness performance after going abroad. These problems include that our coal mineenterprises do not have strong ability of transnational operation and operate theactivities of going abroad blindly following other enterprises，and that many coal mineenterprises have chosen the region or method of investment which is not suit for itself.Meanwhile, some of our coal mine enterprises do not have good operate conditions.Aiming at these problems above, this paper come up with the suggestions: on the onehand, the coal mine enterprises should improve the transnational operating ability,while the government should take measures to control and manage the behavior of ourcoal mine enterprises which have carried out the activities of going abroad; On the otherhand, our coal enterprises should follow the principle of gradual internationalization,according to the coal mine enterprises’ own ability to select the appropriate area andinvestment mode, and our coal mine enterprises should try their best to improve theability of adapting overseas environment to enhance the management in overseas.
