The increasingly fierce competition of hotel industry leads that hotels’personalized and differentiated service becomes more and more important.With the development of hotel industry and more intense competition,individualization and differentiation of hotel service become prominent. It isan important measure to run hotel scientifically and accomplish the strategictarget by making full use of performance management system to motivatestaff and cultivate their loyalty. Meanwhile, detailed classifications of hotelindustry make the human resource management and performance managementmore complicated. Therefore, importantance for long-term development of thehotel based on different types of hotels targeted to improve its employeeperformance management system.The key point of this paper is the assessment of performance managementsystem for costal resort hotel. It is hoped that the problems of hotel’sperformance management can be found and the system be improved byscientific, efficient and systematic assessment of hotel’s performancemanagement system. Therefore, the paper will systematically assess theperformance system and detect the major problems in terms of performanceindex setting, performance management training and the process of themanagement by using semi-structured dialogue on the case of A Hotel. Theauthor has researched the core reasons of the existing problems of A Hotel’sperformance management system. It is found that the human resourcemanagement system lack strategic guide, the design of performancemanagement procedures is in chaos. The above-mentioned problems are themain reasons for the unscientific setting of performance management system.In addition, the paper will optimize the performance management systemregarding performance management index, strategic goals of hotel, plan ofperformance management training, the application of performance appraisalresults and find the differences and common types of coastal resort hotel hotel staff performance management system. In the meanwhile, the measures andsuggestions will be given to reveal the characteristics of coastal resort hotel.A new thinking and method will be provided for this type of hotel and itsperformance management system.
