In China, there is a great and wide gap between urban and rural areas, but the gapcould make great difference. Urbanization will be the biggest development potential inthe coming decades. Urbanization is the development way to insist for a long time,which will help to promote our country’s economy healthy and sustainable developmentas well as improve the quality of people’s life. While China’s urbanization process isunder way, we also see what is associated with it is urban ecological problems. Thepollution problem of the ecological environment has obvious influence on the health ofurban sustainable development. In the past, environmental protection was ignored whilewe focus on economic development. It turns out that the policy of treatment afterpollution is not helpful to the current situation. The12th five-year plan put forward the"ecological civilization" and the18th National Congress of CPC put forward "beautifulChina". These two requirements show that China has already started to discover theimportance of environmental protection. Government actively explores the developmentpath to protect the urban ecological security at the same time with the development ofeconomy. Backward technology and management method is difficult to meet the needsof the current rapid development of urbanization, so many countries have set out tostudy how to redesign city innovatively, especially how to improve environmentthrough information&communication technology and unified office system. Smart citypattern will brand-new people`s life and work. Green and low carbon, convenience andhigh efficiency, rapid response will inject vigor for urban sustainable development.Smart construction of urban ecology will effectively solve the problem of ecologicalenvironment, and is also the strategic choice for the healthy development of the cities inour country. In this paper, I changed the habit that the smart city issue only focuses onthe developed cities. This paper studied that smart city solves the ecologicalenvironment problem of small and medium-sized cities.This paper studied ecological construction of small and medium-sized cities, basedon urban ecological evaluation index system. It aimed to find the deficiency in theprocess of urban ecological construction, and put forward policy suggestions to solvethe problem of ecological construction in a smarter way. Firstly, I analyzed theconnotation of the smart city, and summarized the urban ecological problems in theprocess of urbanization. According to the request of ecological civilization and beautifulChina, I pointed out that the smart city construction can effectively meet the demand of ecological construction and urban development. Smart city should be the strategicchoice of urban development in China. Secondly, I summarized the current research onevaluation index system of city ecological construction, using frequency statistics andtheory analysis method to select index, I established evaluation index system of cityecological construction, which is suitable for China`s small and medium-sized cities. Iselected the principal component analysis to evaluate the city to discover thecharacteristics and disadvantages of urban ecological construction development. In thefollowing, I made an evaluation of the Baicheng`s ecological construction. Casesanalysis showed that the gap between Baicheng and other four cities, as well as thepromotion of the ecological environment construction of Baicheng from2004to2011.With the concept of smart city construction, I provided some suggestions of the smartway to Baicheng’s ecological environment construction. This paper will contribute tofurther ecological environment construction in a smart way, and will also play animportant role on the extension of the smart city to small and medium-sized cities inChina. |
