Then it is very important to strengthen complementarities and achieve awin-win situation for China and Thailand agricultural trade.Firstly, we introduce the status of bilateral trade of agricultural products between China andThailand, and analyzes the influencing factors of agricultural trade between the two countries. Bycounting trade statistics, which is among24types of agricultural products about China andThailand, from2000to2011, we analyze the complementarities of agricultural products in Chinaand Thailand by trade complementarities index and analyze competition in the trade of agriculturalproducts by product similarity, the market similarity index, RCA and TSC. Then we identify thecompetitive products in China and Thailand and the complementarities agricultural products. In all,the international competitiveness of Chinese agricultural products is weaker than Thailand, showing comparative disadvantage, but in some agricultural products, China is still showing acomparative advantage.Combined with the results of the analysis, we support that with the principle ofcomplementary advantages, China and Thailand strengthen agricultural cooperation and exchangesto improve the international competitiveness of agricultural products, and the implementation ofthe agricultural export diversification strategy, then it is beneficial to expedite the process ofnegotiating and signing of the economic Cooperation framework Agreement, and to promote thesustainable development of the Sino-Thai bilateral trade of agricultural products.
