Global Pharmaceutical Supply Chain has appeared a detail industrial division under the situation of fierce competition and economic continuous downturn. The multi-national pharmaceutical players are more concentrated on their core business and outsourcing the non-core business, and this trend will be stronger in future.China is the third-largest pharmaceutical market in the world now. It will become the second-largest pharmaceutical market in2015through the living standard improvement and the expansion of national health insurance coverage. Facing the huge advantage of Chinese pharmaceutical market and competitive lower manufacturing cost, the multi-national pharmaceutical players are looking for some contract manufacturers in China. However Chinese pharmaceutical industry is low technology and serious excess capacity, and the Chinese overall pharmaceutical industry is lower than Europe&American overall pharmaceutical industry. Therefore, to multi-national pharmaceutical players, the selection and management of contract manufacturer is critical for future success.In this paper, firstly, it starts from the research of outsourcing theoretical basis and the relevant literature. Secondly, it introduces the outsourcing history, existing reality reason, current situation&future trend, more focus on the selecting&routine management, and analysis of potential risk to contract manufacturer in pharmaceutical industry. Finally, it uses AB pharmaceutical company as an example to explain the multi-national pharmaceutical player’s selecting and managing contact manufacturer based on feasibility study, selecting, dynamic risk management, auditing to identify potential risk, make measurement and correction action plan, and continuous improvement.
