An Empirical Study Of Agricultural Industrialization On The Transformation Of Agricultural Growth Pattern Of China

Agriculture is the foundation and the weak point of China, and the three ruralissues have always been the fundamental problem which is relevant to thedevelopment of the party and people facilities. The extensive pattern of agriculturalgrowth which is characterized by high input, high consumption and low efficiency isnot sustainable in China, and we must change the pattern of agricultural growth assoon as possible so as to realize the agricultural sustainable growth. As an importantpart of agricultural modernization, the industrialization of agriculture plays a key rolein the transformation of agricultural growth pattern. Therefore, it has very importanttheoretical and practical significance to study the causal relationship and relatedmechanism between the industrialization of agriculture and the transformation ofagricultural growth pattern, and to explore how to transform the agricultural growthpattern through the development of agricultural industrialization.Based on the summary of previous literature, this article first analyzes themechanism of agricultural industrialization promoting the transformation ofagricultural growth pattern. The research shows that the agricultural industrializationnot only through the direct mechanism but also through three indirect mechanism suchas improving the agricultural total factor productivity, optimizing the industrialstructure of agriculture and the innovation of agricultural system to promote thetransformation of agricultural growth pattern. Second, this article analyzes the presentsituation of the agricultural industrialization and the transformation of agriculturalgrowth pattern. The results show that there have great regional diversities andconsistency in the provincial agricultural industrialization and the provincialtransformation of agricultural growth pattern. The empirical results show that, thereexists positive Grainger causal relationship between the agricultural industrializationand the transformation of agricultural growth pattern. That is, the direct mechanism ofagricultural industrialization is conducive to promoting the transformation ofagricultural growth pattern. There is a complementary relationship between theagricultural industry structure optimization of agricultural industrialization, theagricultural technology progress and the agricultural industrialization, and throughthe progress of agricultural technology and the optimization of agricultural industrystructure the agricultural industrialization is conducive to realize the transformation of agricultural growth pattern. The indirect effect of the development of agriculturalindustrialization on the transformation of agricultural growth pattern throughagricultural system innovation way is not obvious, and the level of human capital andthe level of science and technology are two key factors to transform the agriculturalgrowth pattern, but there is no objective evidence which shows that the increase ofcity rate will occupy the agricultural resources so as to hinder the transformation ofagricultural growth pattern. Based on the research conclusions, this article putsforward some policy recommendations concerning how to transform the agriculturalgrowth pattern from three aspects of the development of agricultural industrialization,the innovation of agricultural system and the improvement of the level of agriculturalhuman capital.
