The late1980s, UEC founder participated in the national "Plan" period key scientific and technological projects, then the results of the research and development of the core operating system is Unix-based graphics workstation systems. So the company’s inception in2001, corporate positioning is based on the Unix product distribution model, the product is also UEC IT companies in the fierce competition in the market continuously to maintain the foundation of growth performance. But the financial crisis occurred in2008, the global economy into recession trough, business strategy encountered unprecedented development pressure. By this time, the global economy is moving to diversify the direction of integration, deepening reform and innovation. In the more competitive market environment, the strategic positioning of the enterprise if the operator does not adjust, the development of enterprises will be a bottleneck. The company’s single product business model gradually reveal defects, lack of core competitiveness of enterprises, so UEC company’s strategic transformation into a top priority. The only way companies can steady and healthy development.By early2009, UEC company started strategic transformation. After four years of hard work bear fruit strategic transformation, mainly in the following three aspects:First, the company’s new business strategy in line with the needs of fast-growing companies, business diversification, the basic completion of the organizational structure adjustment and upgrading management capabilities. Second, business scale and profitability to achieve steady growth, market awareness has been strengthened. Third, the development of new products and technological innovation capability is improved. Of course, UEC strategic transformation, there still exist some problems, mainly as follows:(1) the company’s development, insufficient funds (2) the relative lack of development of the condition (3) lack of strategic vision from reality (4) management system is not perfect (5) lack of strategic execution.In this paper, learning MBA courses strategic management theory and methods, management practices based on the author’s personal involvement and experience, the use of PEST analysis· Michael Porter’s five forces model analysis, SWOT analysis and other analytical tools, the company’s external competitive environment, internal environment, early development strategy, the company transformation strategy and the company’s existing resources and capabilities to conduct a comprehensive analysis and proposed adjustments to the Company’s strategic vision and goals, adjust the direction of the company to diversify and open up a new blue ocean industry advantage, expanding the company geographic market, strengthen customer loyalty and accelerate the development of new large customer strategy, and to seize the opportunities listed company, take advantage of a favorable adjustment of resources and a series of major strategic initiatives, and from management, human resources, financial resources, research and development and innovation and other aspects of the proposed implementation of the strategic transformation of the effective support system.UEC is a microcosm of the development of China’s IT industry, is a very specific representative of the company. Therefore, this study of the case has important reference value and reference.
