Joint-stock commercial banks in China’s economic development and financial reformof the product, charged with the introduction of market competition mechanism, andexplore the road of reform of commercial banks dual task. Since reform and opening,through continuous rapid development, joint-stock commercial banks in China’s economicdevelopment has become a major force, and gradually grow into China’s second-tier banks.Joint-stock commercial banks have high growth and high profitability which achieve theattention and recognition of the customers. However, there are also many problems andpitfalls among joint-stock commercial banks. How to correctly evaluate thecompetitiveness of joint-stock commercial banks and how to continuously improve theircompetitiveness levels, from which aspects to adjust? The Answer to these questions hasimportant and far-reaching significance of the banking industry itself and the wholenational economy.This essay firstly defines the concept of competitiveness of joint-stock commercialbanks and depart through theory and corporate competitiveness at home and abroad.Thisessay extracts the bank’s competitiveness evaluation framework. Then build acompetitiveness evaluation index system of joint-stock commercial banks, use DEAmethod to evaluate the competitiveness of joint-stock banks. This studies suggest that,compared with the large state-owned commercial banks, joint-stock commercial bankswhich are smaller but more flexibility, easier to achieve optimal efficiency of scale, butalso more competitive. The large state-owned banks are too big, having a lot of outlets, alarge number of employees, size of less efficient, less competitive level. But in recent years,large state-owned commercial banks have to catch up. In this paper, the analysis of the ZBank has been made to formate the competitive input and output status and to summarizethe Z Bank Competitiveness strategy.The last part of paper is the conclusions andsuggestions, analysis of deficiencies and future prospects.
