Our country is in a critical period of building a well-off society in an all–round way. The booming economy provides people with material foundationin daily consumption. On one hand, the affluent material creates goodcondition to consumption; on the other hand, it has different impact on theconsumption idea followed by. As a unique consuming group, theconsumption idea of Mongolian college students shows some newcharacteristics influenced by both social trend and traditional national culturein this rapid developing era. The comprehensive research on the consumptionstatus of Mongolian college students is an access to understanding the latestsituation on consumption status of them, which leads a correct way for thecollege educators to teach and guide college students in consuming. Theresearch offers reference purposefully for the construction of consumptionenvironment on campus as well, and meantime, it helps Mongolian collegestudents to realize their consuming conducts in order to establish Marxismconsumption viewpoint consciously.This article investigates the consumption status of Mongolian collegestudents in following three universities that centralized more Mongoliancollege students than others in Hohhot: Inner Mongolian Normal University,Inner Mongolia University and Inner Mongolia Agricultural University.Interviewing and questionnaire have been adopted in the research, fullyanalyzing the consumption status among college students.This article is formed by the following sections:The introduction is mainly about the study background and thesignificance of it. Summarizing relevant domestic and foreign research result,defining conceptions related and introducing the way of research are alsoconcluded.In the first section, the author describes the consumption status ofMongolian college students by analyzing the data of their living consumption,educational consumption and social consumption. In the second section, the author expounds the difference consumptionstatus in different groups among college students. College students is dividedinto the following parts: Mongolian college students and Han college students,Mongolian college students from student source of eastern and westernMongolian college students with urban-rural household registration, male andfemale Mongolian college students, Mongolian college students in differentgrades. The author compares them with each other and analyses the differencein the consumption status.In the third section, the author elaborates specifically the impact on theconsumption status of Mongolian college students from the aspects ofnational culture, family, economy and system, university, and society.In the forth section, the author summarizes the characteristics of theconsumption of Mongolian college students and propose countermeasure to it.We get the conclusions are: first, national culture has a weakening impact onthe consuming of Mongolian college students; second, the consumption levelof Mongolian college students has been raised, and differences exist indifferent groups; third, the structure of consumption changes from living todevelopment and enjoyment; forth, the consumption idea is updating, butconsumer psychology is not yet mature; fifth, follow the trend of the times,the way of consumption is enriched. In view of this, we propose thecountermeasures are proposed: first, advocate the Marxism scientificconsumption idea; second, speed up the regional economy development andincrease the income of farmers and herdsmen; third, enhance the education onconsumption on family; forth, optimize the consumption environment; fifth,enhance the education on consumption on campus and build up a goodcampus consumption culture. The author hopes to improve the consumptionstatus of Mongolian college students through the measures above.
