With the enhancement of people’s living standards,Chinese retail industry hasdeveloped rapidly and its profitability also have increased in recent years,butcompared to the western developed countries,there is still a long way to go. How toimprove the performance of Chinese retail business,especially how to improve theperformance of Chinese retail listed companies,is an issue of general concern toacademic. To the end,this article collects relevant literature and researches theperformance of Chinese retail listed company and its influencing factors,To provideeffective advice of improving the level of performance of Chinese listed companies.firstly,based on the theory of domestic and foreign research data,to understandthe development status of Chinese retail listed companies,this article makes astatistical analysis of the current situation of Chinese59retail listed companies.Secondly,this article designs the indexes system,and uses the main componentsanalysis method evaluate the performance of the listed corporations in retail industry.We got a list form the result and from this list we can see some factors may influencethe performance.Thirdly,this article makes a correlation between performance andinfluence factors,and we find that the company scale,the diversification strategy andthe place are significantly related to the performance,the capital structure,ownershipconcentration,technology development and management level are related to theperformance weakly. In addition,the paper adopts the multi-factor analysis by theseindexes. Then we find that in retail industry,the company scale,the diversificationstrategy and the place are significantly in the multi-factor analysis. At last, the articlecomes up with related policy suggestion to effectively improve the performance ofretail listed corporations and ameliorate the management environment.
