Appropriate urban policy, management and spatial development pattern ofthe city is the key to solving these problems. There is a handicap that how to fully most effective ourresources, with dwindling energy resources in our today’s society. In our society, there is a big challenge tosustainable development of cities, with the increasing urbanization of the population and the amount ofurban land. Compact city is one of the spatial form of sustainable urban development, urban compacttheory be able to optimize the allocation of reasonable limited resources, protection of land resourcesoutskirts of the city to promote the construction of green provide the oretical support.Central Plains Economic Zone is a strategic decision of National Development and ReformCommission, that was proposed in order to promote economic development. Central Plains Economic Zoneis the main function of the National Planning a clear focus on the development of a regional basis, tosupport the Central Plains Urban Agglomeration covers Henan extended economic zones and thesurrounding areas. However, Zhengzhou as the core city of the Henan,where is the largest railway transporthub cities of china, has an important strategic position in the development of the sustainable developmentof Zhengzhou City.
