A Research On The Performance Evaluation Of The Transformation Of Economic Development Pattern, Patterns Of Spatial Correlations And Spillover Effects Of China Provinces

Sine China’s reform and opening-up, the level of economic development,technology and people’s living standards in every province of China have beenimproved significantly. However, the overall economic structure of each province isstill unbalanced, such as the demands structure which is mainly pulled by investmentsand exports, the manufacture-dominant industry structure, the low level ofurbanization, the increasing income gap. In addition, there s till exist problems such asbackward economic efficiency, insufficient independent innovation capability, wastesof resources, severe environmental damage and low improvements of people’slivelihood, extensive pattern of economic growth. Therefore, it’s necessary totransform the patterns of economic development for every province in order toimprove economic structure, promote economic efficiency, improve the efficiency ofresource use, protect environment and guarantee the development of people’slivelihood.This paper firstly clearly defines the meaning of economic development patternby comparing the similarities and differences with the concept of econom ic growthpattern. Meanwhile, on the basis of theoretical studies of transformation of economicdevelopment pattern, through the previous theory to a certain of combing, in order toprovide ideas and theoretical guidance for further research.Secondly, this paper constructs the performance evaluation system composed ofsix first-level indexes, eighteen second-level indexes and forty-eight third-levelindexes including economic growth, economic structure, economic efficiency,self-innovation, resources and environment, social development and people’slivelihood based on the meaning of transformation of economic development pattern.Then we use Entropy Method to calculate each index’s evaluation score and theoverall evaluation score in order to reflect each province’s current situation oftransformation of economic development pattern precisely and exhaustively.Thirdly, this paper tests the patters of spatial correlations of different provincesbased on the Moran Index and LISA Index method and then divides a ll significantregions into four different types which includes High-High type (high level ofdevelopment and high level of spatial lag), High-Low type (high level of developmentand low level of spatial lag), Low-High type (low level of development and high level of spatial lag), Low-Low type (low level of development and low level of spatial lag)according to the level of transformation of economic development pattern.Fourthly, this paper constructs the spatial econometrical model by adding spatiallag variables to the traditional C-D production function and from the perspective ofthe agglomeration effect and the diffusion effect to comprehensively analyze thespillovers effects of transformation of economic development pattern amongprovinces.Lastly, this paper concludes the full text and puts forward feasible suggestionsabout how to promote the transformation of economic development patterns ofdifferent provinces.
