With the National Tobacco Monopoly Bureau enhancing “the cigarettelevel improving” strategy and the “532”“461” brand strategies, brand developmentbecomes more important and urgent, especially for the further cooperation between theindustry companies and wholesaling companies. Both parties should re-position andtake innovative measures. On the National Cigarette Sales Conference of2010, theNational Tobacco Monopoly Bureau had the statement that the tobacco industrycompanies are the owner of cigarette brands and the tobacco wholesaling companies areresponsible for cultivating cigarette brands. This conference provided a guideline fortobacco companies on future cigarette brands cultivating.This thesis takes the cigarette brands cultivating of China National**CorporationSichuan Branch(in short, Sichuan**Company, as follows) as its subject. By using thetheories of brands cultivating and marketing, taking the methods of on-site research anddata analysis, this thesis provides the research on the status of Sichuan**Company’scigarette brands cultivating and development. It finds some problems such asinsufficient on promotion methods, lacking cooperation between the industry companiesand wholesaling companies. This thesis also comes up with5aspects to solve theproblems that are job planning, market research, promotion, market maintaining andcomprehensive coverage.
