| The economic development of a country or a region is closely related withits population development, economic development is the decisive force ofpopulation development, while population development also has a strongreaction to economic development. Ordos city located in the southwest ofInner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The rapid rise of Ordos city and its fasteconomic development have drawn the attention from all over the world sincethe Western Development Strategy implemented. The rapid development ofeconomy is bound to bring about the change of population development, andstudy the impact of economic development on population development inOrdos city has important theoretical and practical significance for achievingthe coordinated development of population and economy and even sustainabledevelopment.This paper puts forward measures to promote coordinated development ofpopulation and economy of Ordos city through studying the impact of itseconomic development on population development. There are totally fivechapters in this article, in which the first chapter describes the background,the aim as well as the significance of this article’s topic, and combs thedomestic and foreign relevant research dynamic, and introduces the researchmethods, technical route and innovation points and the deficiencies of thisarticle. The second chapter is overview of the study region and definitions ofsome related concepts. Based on field investigation and comparative analysisof relevant data, Chapter three selects representative indicators of economyand population, analyzing the current situation of the development of Ordoscity’s economy and population since the Western Development Strategyimplemented, and then states the advantages and restricting factors ofeconomic development and the characteristics of population development. Onthe basis of the content in the third chapter, after analyzing and comparing thechange of related indicators of economy and population in Ordos city sincethe Western Development Strategy implemented, the fourth chapter revealsthe impact of the economic development in Ordos city on its population quantity, quality and structure. Chapter five puts forward measures to promotecoordinated development of population and economy of Ordos city after theproblems are discovered in chapter four, and points out that Ordos city shouldrealize its coordinated development of population and economy by means ofcontrolling the size, raising the quality and optimizing the structure ofpopulation, along with economic structure improvement and overall regionaldevelopment. |
